RSPCA - A national organisation 'working to prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of animals', or so they say. We have not provided a link to the RSPCA because not only are they the only animal charity in the UK which routinely kills 'unwanted' dogs, while the others have a strict no-kill policy, but they are also used by the police to kill dogs believed to be dangerous, such as a frightened German Shepherd alone in its house after its owner has died.

In June 2009, 10 German Shepherds were needlessly killed after their owner died in Pontardawe South Wales. They were shot by the RSPCA with a captive bolt gun as used in abattoirs.

For anyone who think this is a slur on what they imagine is 'the nations best loved and most respected animal welfare charity' hah, think again! The RSPCA inspectors used a captive bolt gun, a weapon used in slaughter houses to stun animals before bleeding. This story was made public thanks to Many Tears dog rescue. The RSPCA probably thought nobody would ever hear about it. Please don't donate to them, tell everyone you know who cares about dogs to do what they can to bring this to the public's attention. Write to MPs and the media, write to the RSPCA [their council members are all listed on the links above], do what you can for the sake of the many thousands of other dogs this organisation will kill in the future - last year they killed 7,000+ dogs as being difficult to rehome. Other animal shelters will not kill an otherwise healthy dog.
